The 4th Annual Plunge for Hope will be held on Saturday, February 20th
at Lakeside Church in Cambridge. Registration begins at 10:30, the jump
is at noon, and there will be a chili, bake sale and new this year
a Silent Auction.
The Plunge for Hope had its beginning in Feb of 2007. It was held at
Lakeside Church in Cambridge, and was hosted by New Hope Community
Church. The event began as an effort to pull people together from all
denominations and backgrounds to raise money for community
outreach. Past year’s event included a food drive to restock the food
shelf, a chili feed, prizes for the best costume and most money raised,
and LOADS of fun. Over 100 people have braved the arctic waters to raise
money for our worthy benefactors, including the Braham girl’s basketball
team, and two men all the way from India!!. More than 600+ people have
gathered to watch the last 3 years. The we have raised over $15,000 in
the past and 100% of that went back into the community in the form of
donations. We want this year’s event to be bigger and better than last
year’s so we can further the community outreach. Sharing God’s love and
reaching out to those in need is our mission. Lets raise over $10,000 in
this jump alone! What a testimony!!!
The proceeds from this years event will benefit Somewhere Else, The Fish
House, and the land fund for New Hope Community Church. The Fish House
is a local recovery ministry for those struggling with addiction. More
info can be found on their
website. Somewhere Else is a small coffee shop that is volunteer
supported by some personal and business contributions. The volunteered
staff provides a safe environment and a soft side to a spiritual place
to be. There has been major transformation from kids that have gone
there and that still do. We feel strongly about coming along side this
ministry and supporting this cause. |

New
Hope is a church that desires to be fun, yet
relevant, adventuresome, yet life changing.
Jesus stated in John 10:10 that, “He came so
that we would have life and have it to the
full.” Here at New Hope we are learning more and
more what it means to live life large in the
grace, forgiveness, love, security and power of
Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us! New Hope
Community Church is a group of Real People, in
relationship with a Real God, walking through
Real Life stuff. We have no rituals or dress
codes. Services are held in the Performing Arts
Center of the Cambridge-Isanti High School. We
invite you to join us! We promise to reflect
Biblical principles and show their relevancy to
your day-to-day life.
Looking forward to having you with us,
Bill Berg, Lead Pastor |
